Beautiful is an ugly thing. 

It’s fleeting, changing 

Evolving with every reflection seen mirroring - 

(back at you). 

 

It’s subjective, cruelly objective 

Sometimes pensive, contemplative 

Often persuasive - 

(seemingly against you). 

 

When found, it’s consuming 

Obsessive, possessive, & intoxicating 

Beautiful is an ugly thing - 

Until that fleeting moment when - 

(it’s staring back at you).
